How to Get Free Pizza

Order fresh tomatos on the side. Over half the time they are left at the pizza place when the delivery person brings the pizza. Call and simply state the situation. Voila! Instant credit for a free pizza next time you order, as long as you don't mind you still have no fresh tomatos for tonight's pizza.

Do Over!

Another of life's little lessons so well pointed out. I am redecorating the kids' bedrooms. Today I got all excited to do a wall in the girls' room. I am painting a simple mural on on wall. I didn't want to take time to plan it out, but rather let it flow...well, it flowed right into an overcrowded mess. It looked so overpowering I had to admit my mistake, cut my losses and paint a coat of primer right over the whole mess to start over. All because my enthusiastic nature overcame the logic of a few minutes of planning. Drat that common sense thing!

My Money Magnet

Remember Jonathan's cookie dough sales for school? Well he earned getting to go in the cash grab machine for one of his prizes. It was suppose to be 3 weeks ago, but it finally happened today. He was one of only 2 first graders that earned it. He decided on a strategy ahead of time. He wore his hooded sweatshirt with the kangaroo pocket. He was very anxious for his turn to come. He climbed in and they closed the door. 35 seconds of furiously grabbing and stuffing into that pocket until it was full! He came out with a wad! He was so happy. After the official count it was announced. $58! That is a lot of cash for a 7 yr old boy! What a money magnet.

We sorted his money when he got home from school. Some for tithing, education, Long term savings, and of course, play. We put $30 of it towards play. He immediately spent $17 ordering a spy kit and 8 books from a book order. He wanted to spend it all, but I know it will be more fun if he can spend part of it on a toy or video games or something more gratifying. I am very proud of him. He worked hard for it and came up with a good idea on how to get the most out of his chance. Most importantly he had fun the whole way!

FYI

In case I don't find a chance to tell you later, I am leaving Saturday morning for a week. I am going to become a certified trainer. For anyone who does not yet know, Jim and I are going to be doing Marriage Strengthening Seminars. I am excited to be doing this with him. More so, we are both excited at the prospect of helping change people's lives for the better.

My 2 year old daughter was struting around so proud of herself. She was wearing just her new sandals. Previously she had much more than that. It was just so cute to see how proud she was. "Pretty, Mommy. Pretty shoes."

"Yes, Memmy. They are very pretty shoes."

Fun Times

Walking in there were cases of things I had never even imagined. Shelves of items in exotic flavors with names I couldn't even pronounce. Today I visited the Boise Co-Op. It is an amazing place. They had all kinds of products from all over the world, every vegatarian alternative you could imagine, natural clothes, every kind of hebal supplements, free range "addative"-free meat, more cheeses than I knew existed, a Gelato bar, hand-made chocolates, and on and on and on....

It was like being a kid in a sugar-free safe candy store. Best of all, everyone was very kind to my children and seemed to genuinely enjoy having them there!
