The Secret Lie

Do you ever feel like somewhere deep down there is a secret part of you that hides from the world? You act very confident and grown-up, like you are in charge of yourlife. Everyone sees you are in control. You have things pretty figured out. Life is good.

Then there is this secret that tugs at your mind. "You don't really know what you are doing. If they knew, they'd laugh at you. You don't know what to do! You are really still just a kid playing like you know what's going on. Don't let anyone know!"

This secret threatens to expose you all the time. It controls you. Makes you get fancy things in order to look more important, presses you to work harder, more hours, dress the kids just right, make them behave just so, keeps you from dancing at parties and playing in the rain. It helps you "keep things in check" so you look good enough.

But deep in your heart, ever so faintly there comes an idea, barely more than a whisper. It runs to your very core, but is so quiet it might just be your imagination....

"The secret is the lie."

Brilliant words. That is definetly true about me. I hate growing old. I keep the child alive secretly. Watching silly cartoons, films & play silly tricks :-) it is so boring to play a grown-up minute after minute. It is a shame this secret is to be hidden...

Insightful and thought provoking. Really explains how people think and why they act the way they do.

Cool, that is good, so that helps me understand people that do things for show... never got that before really. I have tended to just be annoyed at them and feel that there desire to hide reality shows a lack of true intelligence... which I'll have to admit still may be correct, however I have not understood the source of their motivation before... nice to have a window to help me have more compassion for them.

Exteremely well done, excellent insight. I think that many of us have inhabited that section of experience at least for a period of time. I did for a number of years, then I came to the realization that I am ageless and timeless and that I get to inhabit this body on the earth plane for some period of time where I get to meet some of the most awesome people on this planet. (You being one of them.)

Sometimes when I feel kidlike I can drop into that experience for a little while, then off to the next adventure.

So be it!
